At Unicare, we believe that each child is a unique individual who has an individual temperament and needs and as such should be treated with respect.

Unicare aims to create a loving, caring, happy and warm environment and to assist in the development of your child's physical, mental and emotional needs, thus making Unicare a place where children would want to attend and a place where you, the parent or guardian would be happy and confident about leaving your child in our care.

Unicare aims to "Encourage the Wonder" in children and as such will provide a learning environment deliberately designed to provide exploration and discovery, whilst maintaining consistency in the general design of the environment.

Unicare aims to provide an early childhood environment that is comfortable, colourful and fun, where adults and children can share together in a happy and relaxed atmosphere.

Unicare aims to reflect the current needs of Staff, Students and community with harmony and co-operation between the State and Federal Governments, Student Guild and University.

Additional Information:

As Unicare is concerned with the whole child - your child's emotional needs must also be considered.

1.      New parents are required to visit the Centre with their child and stay with the child at least twice prior to actual commencement.  No charge is made for these visits.  Visiting times are between 9.00am - 11.00am  or  2.00pm - 4.00pm.

2.      In the initial settling in period during the first week, you are welcome to stay for short periods and share the usual day care experiences with your child.

3.      Always say goodbye when leaving.  It may be tempting to wait until your child is engrossed in an activity and then slip away unnoticed but you will lose trust if you leave in this manner and you may not be let go so easily next time.

4.      To ensure continuity of care between home and the centre, please share with staff any important information that may affect your child's emotional well being ( i.e. a parent away on business / in hospital).

Parents are always welcome to phone the centre for reassurance on how their child has settled. Staff will also contact you during the initial settling process to let you know your how child’s going.
